Donald Trump fires back at MAGA critics after Iran strikes

Donald Trump’s decision to strike Iran has had mixed emotions on home soil. Even MAGA supporters, including Tucker Carlson, have criticized the decision. Now, the president sends a defiant message to those criticizing him.

The Trump administration is in hot water over the Iran strikes. The military operation has left many questioning the president, not least as he said he wouldn’t start any new wars. Meanwhile, Trump officials have stated that this isn’t a war they have started, but a war that they want to end.

Still, the strikes on Iran have been met with heavy criticism in the U.S, and not only from Democrats. Several top MAGA supporters have shown their anger towards Donald Trump for the decision to go to war.

Speaking with ABC News on Sunday, former Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson, a long-time Trump supporter,, condemned the attack on Iran.

Tucker Carlson stated that the attack was “absolutely disgusting and evil.” and suggested that it would have a significant effect on Trump supporters and the president’s political movement.

“This is going to shuffle the deck in a profound way,” Carlson said.

Popular pro-Trump podcaster Tim Pool also blasted the Trump administration’s decision. Moreover, MAGA influencer brothers Keith and Kevin Hodge wrote in an online post, “Freeing the people of Iran is not why I voted for Trump.

They added, “President Trump has completely LIED to his voters, backstabbed our country and has disgraced his legacy beyond repair at this point, biggest fall from grace i have ever seen.”

Talk radio host and former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly said she had “serious doubts” about the airstrikes. She also questioned whether they justified the deaths of U.S. service personnel.

Marjorie Taylor Greene furious

Former Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, with a history of being a huge MAGA supporter but making a U-turn after having a falling out with the president over the Epstein files, was furious over the Iran strikes.

“The Trump admin actually asked in a poll how many casualties voters were willing to accept in a war with Iran??? How about ZERO you bunch of sick f—— liars,” Greene wrote. “We voted for America First and ZERO wars.”

Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky publicly opposed the operation.

“This is not ‘America First,’” Massie wrote in a social media post. “The Constitution requires a vote, and your Representative needs to be on record as opposing or supporting this war,” Massie said.

Donald Trump is known for going his own way, and that applies to this situation as well. Even though many of his supporters have shown their anger – and others praised it – towards starting a war with Iran, the president is standing his ground. Now, he has responded to his critics.

Speaking with independent journalist Rachel Bade on Monday, Trump said his support from supporters remains firm.

“I have to do what’s right, number one — and you can’t have Iran getting a nuclear weapon. That’s predominant to me,” Trump said, per The Hill.

“I think that MAGA is Trump — MAGA’s not the other two. MAGA wants to see our country thrive and be safe. And MAGA loves what I’m doing — every aspect of it… This is a detour that we have to take in order to keep our country safe and keep other countries safe, frankly.”

Further, Trump dismissed Megyn Kelly’s opposition to the Iran strike by pointing to her past criticism of his credentials.

“She was opposed to me for years when I ran the first time and nothing stopped me,” Donald Trump added: “They always come back.”
